Day 6 – A song that reminds me of my best friend.

My best friend is better than yours. It’s true.

We don’t see each other as much these days since we live on different sides of the city, and she’s very busy and out of town a lot, but it doesn’t matter. We have the kind of friendship that no matter how far apart we are or how long it’s been, it doesn’t make a lick of difference. We pick right back up where we left off. She is always there if I need her and vice versa. All we have to do is pick up the phone and say “I need you” and we come running to each other’s aid, no questions asked.

We’ve known each other for twenty years or so. When everything went down with Monster #2, she was there for me when few people were. She stepped up and saved me.

She’s got much softer edges than me to the point where she’s taken advantage of a lot. I come to her rescue, not because she asks, but because I want to. I won’t let anyone harm her.

Unlike me, she’s outgoing and charming. She’s a people person and an excellent negotiator. People naturally like her, whereas people are naturally afraid of me, but we complement each other. Together, we are unstoppable. You can read about some of our adventures here, here and here.

There are so many songs and bands that remind me of my best friend, but I’m going to go with The Buzzcocks because we both love them and this is her go to break-up song. There’s a story behind a Buzzcocks show that I haven’t told you yet, but someday I will.
