On Donald Trump & Women

Other than a swipe here and there, I’ve largely stayed silent on this American presidential election cycle, because for any thinking person, it’s entirely clear who the next President should not be.

Donald Trump supporters seem divorced from any sense of reality, particularity if those supporters are women. I don’t see how it’s possible to be an informed voter and be a Trump supporter. You have to choose one or the other; either bury your head in the sand or learn the facts. Once you have even some of the facts, it’s impossible to support him.

This is the American presidential election, not a reality show, but you’d never know it to look at the news. On Friday, another embarrassing Trump video was released. To me, the most cringe-inducing part of the video is not the “locker room” talk he and Billy Bush thought they were having in private, but his public behavior towards the woman who comes to fetch them. Her awkwardness at their unctuous flirting is palpable. “I don’t get paid enough for this crap,” is written all over her face.

In his apology video for the remarks he made in the leaked video, he comes closer to a real apology than he ever has by saying, “I said it, I was wrong, and I apologize,” but instead of leaving it at that, he keeps talking. He goes right on deflecting: “I’ve said some foolish things, but there’s a big difference between the words and actions of other people. Bill Clinton has actually abused women, and Hillary has bullied, attacked, shamed, and intimidated his victims.”

Really!? Listen up, Trump. Yeah, Bill Clinton is a smarmy asshole, too. You can high-five each other over your backroom gropes later, but he’s not running for President. You are. As the candidate for a major political party in a presidential election that’s less than a month away, are you really going to compare consensual relations between adults to your apparently god-given right to grab random women by “the pussy?”

At least comparing your behavior to Bill Clinton’s is somewhat apples to apples, but to throw an attack in there, not on Hillary in general, but on Hillary’s treatment of women is really beyond the pale.

That video was supposed to be an apology to half the population of this country–the women. You half-assedly did that, but then, in the same rambling breath, you go on and attack a woman. Do you even see how attacking a woman while apologizing to women might not be the thing to do? Are you aware that Hillary’s treatment of women, no matter how awful, couldn’t possibly be anything like yours simply because she is a woman? Are you that fucking stupid or do you just think we are? Personally, I think it’s the latter.

Release all the attack videos on Hillary you want, but do not condemn her treatment of women in the same one where you’re supposed to be apologizing to us for treating us like love dolls. And all this comes just a week after it was outed that you called your former Miss Universe “Miss Piggy” because she gained some weight and “Miss Housekeeping” because she’s Latino. We can’t keep up with all your sexist/racist scandals. Hardly does one die down, when another erupts.

You have said some awful things about women. In fact, the Telegraph has compiled a handy list of them all in one place for easy reference. But, those are just the things you’ve said. That’s not including the lawsuits where you wanted to fire employees because they weren’t pretty enough or the women who claim you groped them.

You are a sexist misogynist who only cares about women for their looks and assorted holes.

Still, I’ve barely glossed over your treatment of women. I’ve not even touched on all the racist things you’ve said about Muslims, Mexicans, Jews, etc., or any of your myriad scandals, including racist housing discrimination and intimidation, hiring undocumented workers, your scam university, stiffing your workers, antitrust violations, using your foundation to buy collectibles, to pay yourself, and illegally raise funds for this election, your four bankruptcies, and well, the list is too long. Click the link.

After hearing all of this, I find it impossible to believe that anyone could vote for you, but it’s especially mind-boggling that anyone could have a vagina and be a Trump supporter. At best, you see women as second-class citizens. At worst, you see us as a collection of holes to grope as you see fit. You are your own basket of deplorable, Trump.

Now comes the really editorial part: If you are an American, I am not asking you to vote for Hillary. To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of her myself. She is the dictionary definition of politician and not in a good way. But, my dislike of Hillary is similar to my distaste for black licorice; I’d rather not have it, but if I have to, it’s not going to kill me. Hillary is to black licorice as Trump is to having your teeth and fingernails pulled out without anesthesia while being water-boarded. I’ll take black licorice any day.

To Liberals: I have several Bernie Sanders friends who are loath to vote for Hillary. My response is always the same. I say three words that should convince any liberal who is reluctant to vote for Clinton that it is a necessary evil: Supreme Court pick.

To Republicans: Is this really what you want your party to look like? The smart ones are deserting the sinking ship while they still can. Dozens of top Republicans have recently withdrawn their support, including former Republican presidential candidate John McCain and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

To Americans: I can’t believe it’s come to this. Trump is quite possibly the worst American major party presidential candidate ever. I don’t particularly care who you vote for on November 8th, or even if you vote at all, as long as you don’t vote for Donald Trump.
