Earth
This band makes excellent background music. Slow, instrumental and perfect for just zoning out.

Instrumental neo-psychedelica that’s just awesome. Nice little riffs with a spacey feel and a garage band/DIY quality about it that’s less annoying and more organic.

El Gran Silencio
The Big Silence is anything but silent. These guys make you want to shake your money-maker. Plus, they have a brass section and an accordion! I wish I could roll my Rs.

Electric Moon
More neo-psychedelica with a darker, sparser flavor and more of a stoner rock feel. They’re mostly a duo with various guest drummers.

Electric Wizard
Electric Wizard, or as my friend and I call them for some reason, Erectahizzle Wizzlefizzle, Erecto Wizzlefuss, Electry Wizzlepoo or any other variation thereof, is one of my favorite bands. Heavy as balls, fuzzed out, bass heavy, riffy awesomeness. Plus, they have a female guitarist. Hard to pick just one track, but this is one of my favorites. All their records are great. I love listening to EW while driving.

Emancipator
It’s hard to find good trip-hop. A lot of it ends up sounding like watered-down electronica. Emancipator is just full of sound, especially considering it’s basically one dude making it all. Plus, he uses strings and I’m a total sucker for strings.

End Of Level Boss
I don’t remember how I found these guys, but I’m glad I did. Their music has been described as “Kyuss jamming with Voivod, with Chris Cornell laying down the vocals.” How can you not love that?

Excision

Explosions In the Sky
Explosions in the Sky is one of my top 10 favorite post rock bands. They make elaborately simple soundscapes, if that makes any sense. It’s very easy to get lost in their music.

Fish Of Gold
