WordPress Broke My Blog

I pay WordPress for the privilege of posting here. They’ve done some dumb shit in the five years that FOG has lived here, but never have they done something so incredibly idiotic as their latest post editor update.

For me, it broke my blog. I was not able to edit or write new posts from Tuesday afternoon on. I tried to edit my post on mental illness and got this message:

Forever. Forever and ever and ever to infinity. It never went away. I went to lunch with that open and came back an hour later to find it still updating.

I sent them a support request or opened a ticket or whatever they call it. I sent them a tweet. I even upgraded my ancient operating system, which I’ve been meaning to do for a while anyway, hoping that would fix the problem, but no. I still got the three dots forever.

I did everything I could do to get them to notice me and my lowly blog problems to no avail. Two days later, this morning, I got this tweet response:

At least now, if I go in the back way, I can write and edit my posts. That is incredibly inconvenient and fucked up, but at least there’s a workaround to writing and editing posts.

I pay WordPress. This is not a free blog. I give them money every year to have my own ad-free domain for you. Yet, for two days, I haven’t been able to write or edit posts and I haven’t gotten any response from them other than a tweet directing me to some thread that they’re not even going to read.

I am very unhappy. I’m not even sure if I can post this rant, since in the ultimate irony, they’ve taken away my freedom of speech. This fucking blows. Fuck you, WordPress. FIX YOUR SHIT.

UPDATE: I just got a response to my ticket. After two days, they are telling me about the workaround:

P.S. –Is anyone else noticing that when you add an image to a post, it adds it at the very beginning of the post and not at the insert point?
