Vision boards. “What the aich and eff is a vision board?” I thought to myself when I saw this week’s Prompts For The Promptless. “It sounds like something on Oprah.”

Oh. Well, just because it’s on Oprah, that doesn’t mean it’s automatically Oprah-fied. Let’s see what this thing even is before we start drawing conclusions.

From wikihow:

1. Decide the main theme of your board. It may be based on something specific you wish to accomplish or obtain, or it may be a general idea of everything that makes you happy.
2. Find pictures that correspond with your theme, either from old magazines, photographs, or from the Internet.
3. Print (if necessary) and cut out your pictures.
4. Type or write some affirmations that correspond with your theme.
5. Glue your pictures and affirmations to your poster board and pin them to your cork board.
6. Hang your vision board in a place you will see every day.
7. View your board at least once a day, and focus on the objects, sayings and theme of your board.

Sigh. OK. Let’s try to make one. Let’s make mine about things I wish to accomplish or obtain. Let’s start with a house. I would like a nice house to live in with a big yard for my dog:

Yeah. That will work. But since I have all that room, I’d definitely get more dogs:

There. That’s better. Look how happy my dog is now. And since the dogs only take up 1/10th of the lawn, how about some other animals, too?

Yes! Now we’re getting somewhere. Unicorns and T-Rex are a must.

No house of mine would be complete without a giant goldfish fountain. We also need environmentally friendly transportation options. Would you prefer to travel by pterodactyl, dragon or a helicopter that runs on unicorn farts?

Let’s see… What are we missing? Oh, right. Step 4: Affirmations!

There. Assuming that there’s a regulation hockey rink, pool with water slide, shooting range and a huge safe full of cash inside the house, I think we’re good! I don’t want to be greedy.

Whatever that is, it’s certainly quite a vision. I feel better, don’t you?
